Gender: Male

Richard L. Scott founded the Columbia Hospital Corporation in 1987, later called HCA Inc. and built it into the largest health care company in the world, until he was ousted by the company's board of directors in 1997 amid a health-care fraud scandal. Scott subsequently co-founded the Solantic Corporation, which builds and operates health care centers inside Walmart stores. He is also a co-founder of Alijor.com, which connects patients and health care providers. He also owns Continental Structural Plastics, North America's largest industrial composites molder.
