Arthur D. Levinson has been the CEO and a director of Genentech Inc. since July 1995.
He has been the chairman of the board of Genentech since September 1999. He joined Genentech in 1980 and served in a number of executive positions, including the SVP of research and development from 1993 to 1995.
Levinson is also a director of Google.
